It’s already been a momentous year for The MICHELIN Guide, and there’s more exciting news coming.

The MICHELIN Guide debuted in the American Southwest this year, including Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. The full restaurant selection will be revealed during the annual 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest Ceremony Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.

In Florida, the world’s first Cuban star was awarded to Emelina in West Palm Beach, recognizing its high-end, 10-course Cuban fine dining. The world’s first Kosher star also went to a Florida establishment. Mutra in North Miami, helmed by chef and owner Raz Shabtai, received its first MICHELIN star for his Middle Eastern, farm-to-table dishes.

Florida’s Historic Coast (including St. Augustine) also earned its first recognition in the MICHELIN Florida Guide 2026, putting the region on the MICHELIN map for the first time ever.

The MICHELIN Guide revealed it’s also eyeing restaurants in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The inaugural MICHELIN Guide is officially coming to South Australia, marking MICHELIN’s first entry into the country. The selection will be revealed this October, with some restaurants already predicted to grace the guide, including Restaurant Aptos in the Adelaide Hills, Watervale Hotel in Clare Valley, Parwana Afghan Kitchen, Ondeen, Africola, Shobosho, Skillogalee and Baird Bay Experience.

The MICHELIN Guide also expanded its global footprint with its arrival in Aotearoa, New Zealand, marking the brand’s first-ever expansion into Oceania.

Cappadocia, Türkiye, will also appear in The MICHELIN Guide in the upcoming 2026 restaurant selection, joining İstanbul, İzmir and Muğla.

The 2026 Guide for the Nordics was recently released, spanning a whopping 139 restaurants, with additions in Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

The MICHELIN Guide France awarded a third star to one restaurant, Les Morainières, in Jongieux in the Savoy region.

Which addition or milestone are you most excited for? Do you have a favorite restaurant you think deserves to be in a MICHELIN Guide? Email us at letters@globaltravelerusa.com. Please include your full name and location.
