The London, a Luxury Collection Hotel, New York City has officially returned to its roots, with the Midtown Manhattan property once again taking on the name that originally made it one of New York’s most recognizable luxury hotels. In the heart of Midtown at 151 West 54th St., The London New York City blends the vibrancy of London and New York, as well as a renewed identity for the property now under Marriott International’s Luxury Collection.
Sitting 54 stories above Manhattan, the hotel boasts 562 all-suite accommodations, each with a separate living room, oversized layout and bathroom, giving guests the feel of a private Manhattan apartment rather than a traditional hotel room. Following the tradition of the London hour, known as the unhurried pause between the working day and the night ahead, the hotel hosts its Daily Epicurean Moment with artisanal cheeses from Murray’s, the New York cheese monger, paired with wines from local New York vintners.
“There has always been a strong level of recognition and affection for what was The London New York City,” said Geoffery Mills, general manager, The London New York City. “The property has long resonated with travelers for its sophistication, service, and residential-style experience, but also for the energy and people it attracted over the years. As we looked toward the hotel’s next chapter, it became increasingly clear that The London New York City was the name that carried the strongest recognition and emotional connection. Returning to that identity felt authentic to the property’s legacy and right for where the hotel is headed next. What continues to set The London apart is the experience itself. In a city where space is increasingly limited, the hotel offers a stay that feels genuinely residential — from expansive suites with separate living rooms to sweeping views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. Combined with our location in the heart of Midtown, we believe the hotel offers a style of stay that’s increasingly rare in New York.”
