Helsinki’s The Hotel Maria is a new arrival on the Finnish hotel scene, offering a beautiful property for visitors who appreciate Nordic hospitality, service and design.

The Hotel Maria offers 117 spacious rooms, including 38 suites, and a great location in Helsinki’s historic Kruununhaka district.  All rooms and suites are nicely designed and provide a feeling of spaciousness due to a ceiling height of up to 13 feet. The hotel has invested in the rooms’ spa experience by adding saunas, steam rooms or bathtubs to guest bathrooms.  The hotel’s interior design is elegant and lavish, with furniture, lighting and design details from American luxury furniture specialist RH.

The arched windows and spirit of the building’s history is unique, consisting of four different buildings constructed between 1885 and 1930, and designed by noted Helsinki architect Evert E. Lagerspetz. All the buildings are protected by the Finnish Heritage Agency.

The property includes two restaurants and two bars; a separate gym; spa and wellness area; meeting and ballroom spaces; and outdoor areas with terraces, a chapel and a shop. There is also a backyard with terraces and outdoor spaces.

The Hotel Maria opened in late 2023 as a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ prestigious Legend Collection. This will be the brand’s first Legend Collection property in Finland.
