It’s High Tea on the move in Dublin, Ireland, and whether you prefer yours with milk or lemon, Vintage Tea Trips makes sure your favorite brew is served up during a sightseeing trip around the city.
Your café is a two-decker, bright yellow-and-blue vintage Routemaster bus bedecked in greenery and flowers, with a full Irish tea service delivered to the accompaniment of 1950s jazz music. Sip and nibble as the route takes in Christ Church, Trinity College, St. Stephen’s Green, Wood Quay, O’Connell Street, Phoenix Park and the lovely Georgian architecture to be found in multiple city locations. An onboard host will point out sites and share city stories to enhance your experience.
Described on the Vintage Tea Trips website as “biscuit tins on wheels,” tours are ideal for small- to mid-sized travel groups, corporate events, or special occasions and private celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries. Onboard history guide booklets and information about sites along the route are available in French, German, Italian and Spanish.
There are three buses in the fleet and they even have names: Pauline, Kitty and Jean. Each seats 38 guests. Tea menu variations include traditional, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan options — all with a selection of fresh sandwiches, cakes, pastries and delectable desserts. Tour choices include the Dublin Afternoon Tea Trip (70–80 minutes) or bespoke tours designed to accommodate a specific event. During tourist season, up to six Dublin Afternoon Tea Trips are offered each day.
Be sure to make a reservation well in advance of your travel dates, and don’t be late! Tour buses depart from Stephen’s Green (hotel pick-ups can also be arranged in advance) and must adhere to a strict schedule. Arriving at least 15 minutes prior to departure time is recommended.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is an award-winning resort on Coconut Road in Bonita Springs, Florida, on the Gulf Coast between Naples and Fort Myers. The property, with 26 acres of tropical landscaping, multiple water slides and numerous dining venues, is a beautiful resort. Last month, I brought my 13-year-old grandson to the property for two days of water-sliding in balmy mid-December weather.

Jan 8, 2025Restaurant Christophe Hay Review
Chef Christophe Hay had already achieved an enviable culinary reputation before he transformed the former 17th-century riverfront hospice in Blois to an extraordinary first-floor namesake restaurant; it’s the centerpiece around which he built Fleur de Loire, his 44-room, 12-suite Relais & Châteaux affiliate.
