A Holiday Tradition
A long-time tradition in our family (and probably millions of others, I suspect) is a trek to the local cineplex sometime between Christmas and New Year's (often, more than once) to take in a movie, whether Christmas-related or not. Baggies of candy, courtesy of Santa in our stockings, are slipped into pockets and purses (I know, I know!), and we escape to some fantasy world for a few hours.

Thanksgiving is still a week away, and we are another month from Christmas, so it’s a little odd I’m already thinking about the New Year. My sister and I decided a few years ago that each New Year’s Eve we want to do something different; whether a new location or event, it’s our self-made tradition to have a new New Year experience each year.
