In coordination with the release of the highly anticipated release of The Odyssey, Costa Navarino, the sustainably driven destination in Messinia, the southwest Peloponnese, introduces a series of curated immersive experiences into the world of Homer’s epic. The Messinian Odyssey Trail

This interactive, six-stop adventure takes travelers through myth and history, and one participant will even get crowned “King or Queen for the Day.” Stops along the trail highlight the area’s most important sites including The Palace of Nestor, where guests can uncover hidden treasures by solving hidden riddles; Pylos Archaeological Museum; Voidokilla Beach, said to be shaped by the gods; and Nestor’s Cave. The trail follows in the footsteps of epic heroes, traversing landscapes that inspired the world’s first great story.

A Philosophy Walk in the “Echoes of Odyssey”

This trip heads to the Navarino Dunes by a walk led by a professor of ancient Greek literature. Learn about timeless ethical dilemmas, heroism and the journey of Nostos. This trail encourages thoughtful dialogue, universal themes woven in The Odyssey and comparisons on its relevance to life today.

“Odyssean Journey” Signature Spa Ritual

Blending mythic narratives with holistic wellness, this signature ritual features sea-salt exfoliation, clay and rosemary cocooning, a scalp treatment, and a candle massage using warm lavender and sandalwood. The treatment is designed to calm the nervous system and ease muscle tension.

“Penelope’s Heritage” Weaving Workshop

During this workshop, participants will honor the craft of Penelope, the symbol of loyalty, resilience and quiet strength in The Odyssey. In the epic, Penelope wove by day and secretly unwove her work at night to fend off suitors until Odysseus’ return. Guests will learn traditional local weaving techniques blending cultural heritage with hands-on creative fun.
