Southwest Airlines is cutting almost 20 non-stop routes as of January 2020. The airline says the move will allow it to focus its efforts on top destinations. The airline announced the move last month, with flights from Boston (BOS), Dallas Love Field (DAL), Los Angeles (LAX) and Orlando (MCO) seeing the most cuts.
“We are always evaluating our service patterns and performance to ensure that we are offering the right number of seats for the community based on demand from travelers,” said Dan Landson, spokesman, Southwest.
Beginning Jan. 6, 2020, the airline will discontinue non-stop flights between the following cities, but the airline will continue flying one-stop service between the destinations:
Austin (AUS) and San Francisco (SFO)
Boston (BOS) and Atlanta (ATL)
Boston and Kansas City (MCI)
Boston and Milwaukee (MKE)
Columbus (CSG) and Oakland (OAK)
Dallas Love Field (DAL) and Jacksonville (JAX)
Dallas Love Field and Oklahoma City (OKC)
Dallas Love Field and San Francisco
Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Jacksonville
Los Angeles (LAX) and Cancun (CUN)
Los Angeles and Omaha (OMA)
Los Angeles and Pittsburgh (PIT)
Los Angeles and Puerto Vallarta (PVR)
New York (LGA) and Orlando (MCO)
Orlando and Oakland (OAK)
Orlando and Sacramento (SMF)
Orlando and San Jose (SJC)
