The newest ship in Silversea’s fleet recently departed Fort Lauderdale to mark the beginning of its first-ever Grand Voyage, a 71-day circumnavigation of South America. Silver Ray will venture to 38 destinations across 17 countries, with 11 overnights in some of these ports.
This trip connects travelers with vibrant Latin American culture, with three overnights in Rio de Janeiro, where guests will witness the famous Carnival. Other ports of call include some of the Eastern Caribbean’s most captivating destinations like St. Lucia; St. John’s; St. Kitts; St. Thomas; and Puerto Rico.
“As the leading experiential luxury travel brand, we pride ourselves on creating unique moments for our guests,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “This 71-day voyage will incorporate four once-in-a-lifetime events, curated by our team exclusively for guests on our Grand Voyage, to showcase the authentic soul of the destinations they’re visiting, including winetasting among the vines in Valparaiso, front row seats at the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, and a sophisticated evening spent celebrating Bajan culture in Bridgetown.”
The ship’s first Grand Voyage returns to Fort Lauderdale April 3. Upcoming Silversea Grand Voyages include the 47-day Grand Australia later this year, as well as 2025 Grand Mediterranean and Grand South Pacific Expedition in 2025. Looking ahead, the cruise line hosts the 50-day Grand Mediterranean in 2026, the Grand South America in 2027 and the 2026 Grand South Pacific Expedition. In 2027, Silversea also launches a new, 80-destination world cruise.
