Sheraton Boston, a Back Bay landmark for six decades, marks its 60th anniversary in style with the unveiling of its new 60s Suite. Introduced as part of the property’s dramatic $100 million renovation, the suite was created in collaboration with The Greater Boston Vintage Society and pays homage to the golden era of travel and design.

“Boston has always been a city that embraces both history and innovation, and our 60s Suite reflects that same spirit,” said Dan Kakabeeke, general manager, Sheraton Boston. “As we celebrate 60 years, we wanted to create something that not only honors our past but offers a fun, immersive experience for our guests today.”

The 60s Suite is a bold and playful nod to mid-century style, blending authentic vintage pieces with Sheraton’s newly renovated contemporary comforts. Guests are welcomed into a retro living room outfitted with a mustard-yellow tufted sofa; a classic Eames-style lounge chair; and a sleek walnut coffee table set against a groovy, orange-patterned rug. Carefully curated décor includes a vintage record player with a collection of vinyl albums from the period, a rotary style clock, and an original mid-century television console, all of which instantly transport guests back in time. Pops of color come from geometric patterned pillows, a lava lamp and bold wall art, creating a space that feels both nostalgic and stylish.

The suite extends into a bedroom anchored by a king bed with retro-inspired linens and playful accent pillows in shades of orange, rust and gold. Woven textures, warm lighting, a signature rattan chair and vintage luggage add to the era’s signature aesthetic, while modern details ensure guests still enjoy the full comfort and convenience of the hotel’s complete transformation.

For the ultimate time-traveling experience, guests will also have the opportunity to book the hotel’s 1960s Experience offer.

Inspired by the year the hotel first opened its doors, when Prudential Center rose as Boston’s tallest building and the Beatles ruled the airwaves, this exclusive offering transports guests into the spirit of the 1960s. The experience includes overnight accommodations in the 60s Suite, complemented by early check-in (based on availability), two tickets to View Boston at Prudential Center, a whimsical welcome amenity of root beer floats and friendship bracelet-making kits, and a replica vintage Sheraton Boston postcard with postage to send notes 60s-style.

Featuring sweeping Charles River views, the suite is perfect for couples, friends or solo travelers eager to relive the style, nostalgia and charm of the 1960s in the heart of Boston. The suite experience will be available through April 2026.

Located in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay, the $100 million renovation marks a bold new chapter for the iconic hotel. The transformation includes all public spaces, guestrooms, dining venues and meeting areas. Rooted in Sheraton’s long-time vision of becoming “The World’s Gathering Place,” the major renovation blends timeless hospitality with modern comfort.

Sail Away

Please enjoy the Wave Issue, our cruising special for the first half of 2026. Cruising is booming, and travelers cannot get enough of it. I just returned from a fantastic trip on Regent Seven Seas Mariner with a group of Globility Board members and other Global Traveler subscribers. We departed from İstanbul and made our way through the Dardanelles Strait, connecting the Sea of Marmara to the Aegean. From there we entered the Mediterranean. The ship made interesting stops in Greece, Montenegro and Croatia before docking in Trieste. Please read my GT Tested review of Seven Seas Mariner in this issue.
