Scenic Cruises announced the highly anticipated return of its Scenic Eclipse trips to Antarctica starting this month and running through March. This return marks the first time Scenic Eclipse resumed its scheduled 2022 sailing program since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Guests can choose from the 13- or 19-day scheduled sailing trips in the region on Scenic Eclipse.
The 13-day Antarctica in Depth trip starts above the Antarctic Circle, taking guests by the Antarctic Peninsula. Highlights of Antarctica in Depth include crossing the 11-kilometer Lemaire Channel, visiting a working base to meet with staff, exploring the remains of a whaling station and paddling through icebergs in kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.
The 19-day Antarctica & South Georgia trip includes all of the features of the Antarctica in Depth trip as well as five additional days centered around South Georgia Island. Visitors can be the first to experience the wonders of South Georgia Island in an underwater submarine.
“We’ve been planning this Antarctica season for months and we can’t wait to head back to the White Continent for a season of luxury and discovery,” said Jason Flesher, expedition operations manager, Scenic Discovery Yachts. “Thanks to the size and capabilities of Scenic Eclipse, we’ve been able to secure exclusive landings in Margarite Bay, a southern destination that very few ships can visit.”
After March, Scenic Eclipse begins its journey across the Atlantic for her first-ever Mediterranean season.
