Beautifully positioned near San Antonio’s River Walk, Gunter Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, wants travelers to know their canine companions are not only welcome, but they can also settle in and enjoy their own chef-curated Dog Menu. Served up by the kitchen team at the hotel’s signature restaurant, Jots, the new Benson & Friends Favorites menu has a selection of doggy-licous choices created from nourishing real foods, crafted with care.
“Pet-friendly travel has evolved, and today’s guests are looking for experiences that truly welcome their dogs, not just accommodate them,” said Jiwon Choi, owner, Gunter Hotel, and managing director, Axle Capital. “With this new menu from Jots, we’re extending our culinary philosophy to our four-legged guests, offering a dining experience that feels just as intentional and special.”
The Benson & Friends Favorites menu has puppy-pleasing choices like Honey’s Hill Country Breakfast, featuring short rib, chuck and brisket served up with farm-fresh eggs; Benson’s Chicken Delight, prepared with locally sourced chicken; Nori’s Seattle Treat with salmon, rice and green beans; a Canine Crudité made from apples, carrots and green beans; and even a seasonal dessert crafted from house-whipped cream and berries.
The historic Gunter Hotel has been a landmark San Antonio address for more than 116 years. Following an extensive $50-million renovation, the property reopened in fall 2025. Along with Jots, dining venues include Keystone Club, Bar 414 and Paris Baguette. Amenities include a vinyl library and cutting-edge recording studio. Each guestroom features a record player and copy of musical artist Robert Johnson’s debut album, recorded at the hotel in 1936.

Mar 13, 2026Revive and Relax at Finisterra Spa at Martinhal Sagres Family Beach Resort
Most visitors remember Portugal’s Algarve for its 100-plus miles of golden, sun-drenched beaches. Neither I nor my husband, Tim, had been fans of spas before that trip, but Finisterra made us believers.
