ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: We decided to overnight in Baltimore on the way home from a spring road trip to Virginia to visit the National Aquarium, and Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore was the perfect home base — such a comfortable stay, we only wish it had lasted longer!

International Drive dead-ends at the harbor and Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore, making for an easy, unhurried valet experience, as there’s ample space and less traffic flow in the area. Helpful members of the staff loaded our bags and parked our car as we headed inside to check in. Quick, efficient and friendly, the front desk attendant came around the desk to hand my daughter a gift from the hotel: a stuffed dolphin, an adorable nod to our ultimate destination in Baltimore and which she still requests most nights at bedtime for a snuggle.

GUEST QUARTERS: Our Lighthouse Suite with one king bed was spacious and gorgeous. We entered into a long hallway at the end of which sat a powder room and a closet. The space opened into a large living room with a desk, couch, two chairs, a coffee table, a dining table and the TV/entertainment center. The living room featured three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows boasting water and city views.

The ample bedroom opened into a generously sized walk-in closet/dressing area (sans door), providing a nice area to tuck away all our bags. The bathroom featured dual sinks, a soaking tub, a large walk-in shower with a bench and a separate water closet. In the bedroom area we enjoyed a comfortable king-sized bed flanked by two nightstands, a TV atop the dresser and an armchair in the corner. A door off the bedroom led to a small terrace.

SERVICES/AMENITIES: Before departure we ordered an indulgent room service breakfast, further exciting our toddler. Other culinary options include Splash Pool Bar & Grill, serving light American fare; a Latin menu at Maximón; and fine dining on the 29th floor at The Bygone.

Spa at Four Seasons Baltimore spans 10,000 square feet with harbor views and a full menu of treatments. Pool-side cabanas sit alongside the all-ages, infinity-edge outdoor pool, while three cabanas and an outdoor hot tub await adults only at Harbour Terrace. Nearly 21,000 square feet of venue space can host a range of events.
