The line-up for the 2026 season of the Ravinia Festival at its historic, 36-acre grounds has been announced, and it’s dazzling. Adding to the excitement, this season of the longest-running outdoor music festival in North America also heralds the unveiling of the newly updated and redesigned Hunter Pavilion.
The program features an assembly of performers like Paul Simon, Gladys Knight, Rod Stewart, Ricky Martin, Bonnie Raitt, Hugh Jackman, Chance the Rapper, Kool & The Gang, and Brandi Carlile. Additionally, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will return to celebrate the 90th anniversary of its residency at Ravinia. Including the commemorative grand reopening concert July 11, the orchestra will perform six programs guided by Ravinia chief conductor Marin Alsop.
“The grand opening of the Hunter Pavilion marks a historic milestone for Ravinia,” said Jeffrey P. Haydon, president and CEO, Ravinia Festival. “It is particularly meaningful that this state-of-the-art venue will serve as the inaugural stage for our debut artists, including conductor Klaus Mäkelä, Ricky Martin, Miranda Lambert, Tom Jones, Ziggy Marley, Alabama Shakes, Rod Stewart and many others. We are finding that the pavilion’s enhanced acoustics and sophisticated production capabilities are a powerful draw for world-class talent eager to perform in a venue that doesn’t just host music but creates an atmosphere that leaves both artists and audiences equally inspired.”
The schedule offers a heady blend of pop music, recitals, chamber music, guest orchestras, film, family programming, jazz, blues, hip-hop, rap, Latin and reggae. Ticket sales commence on April 23, with the season running June through September.
Ravinia is located about 20 miles north of Highland Park, Illinois, and boasts the state’s only private train platform. Limited parking on site is available, and on concert days, there’s a complimentary park-and-ride shuttle to parking lots located along the train line. In collaboration with Metra, festival attendees can show their dated concert ticket for free train transportation to and from the park on event day.

On one side, waves breathe in and out across wide stretches of sand or explode against jagged rocks, sending spray shooting into the air. On the other side, the scenery changes: Cliffs rise like walls, vineyards clip past in neat rows, pine trees line the road. Between these, cities give way to small communities with art galleries, local restaurants and shops selling beachwear.
