Next year, Qantas Airways will launch the longest non-stop flight in the world, operating the ultra-long-haul route between London (LHR) and Sydney (SYD). Scheduled to begin service October 2027, the 22-hour flight will operate via the airlines’ fleet of new Airbus A350s.

These aircraft boast six private suites in first class, 52 lie-flat seats in business class, 40 premium-economy seats and 140 economy seats. Unique to the aircraft and a first for Qantas Airways is a dedicated Wellbeing Zone to help passengers stretch and combat jet lag.

Tickets go on sale February 2027.

The new route is part of the airline’s Project Sunrise. This initiative pushes Airbus and Boeing to create planes capable of ultra-long-haul, non-stop routes from Australia’s east coast to major hubs in the west like London and New York.

In recent years many global financial companies have set up within the city, intertwined with a diverse mix of places of worship, the Old Medina and grand squares.
