From Nov. 1–6, join photographer Paul Ross and journalist, speaker and Psychology Today blogger Judith Fein, author of The Spoon from Minkowitz: A Bittersweet Trip to Ancestral Lands (GlobalAdventure.us, 2014), and Life is a Trip: The Transformative Magic of Travel on a group adventure to explore Mexico’s Day of the Dead. One of Mexico’s most iconic holidays, the day honors and celebrates the memory of loved ones with festivities and traditional ceremonious. Dating back to an ancient Aztec festival, the public holiday has become one of Mexico’s biggest annual draws.
The immersive experience will encompass workshops in photography, travel writing and plenty of exploration, with tours that include San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, horseback riding, mountain biking and the possibility of a session with a local curandera (healer). Along with accommodations at the elegant and secluded 450-year-old Hacienda las Trancas Historic Hacienda and Spa in Guanajuato, the trip includes group transfer to and from Del Bajío International Airport, all meals, horses, bikes and tours. With only 11 rooms at the historic hacienda, space is limited.
