This September, the PGA Tour returns to Asheville, North Carolina, for the first time in more than 80 years. The first-ever Biltmore Championship will be held Sept. 17–20, 2026, as part of the FedExCup this fall, taking place at Jack Nicklaus-designed The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

The event is slated to draw more than 100 golfers, thousands of spectators and millions of dollars in direct spending for area businesses in the Western North Carolina region. The course alone sits alongside Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The course’s front nine holes traverse open fields of former farmlands and soft ridges, with bunkers creating many risk and reward opportunities for competitors. The back nine holes, meanwhile, play into native woodland vegetation, winding over and around mountain streams. In total, the course combines Bentgrass tees, greens and fairways with Kentucky bluegrass roughs. In fact, the course was recognized by the PGA Tour as the only championship golf course to debut in tournament-ready conditions.
