Omni Louisville Hotel Review

The luxury Omni Louisville Hotel celebrated its one-year anniversary in March. Forever changing the city’s skyline, the silver, 30-story structure gleams. Located a block from the newly enhanced Kentucky International Convention Center, the $320 million property transformed a dormant city block. The downtown hotel with intersecting towers contains 612 guestrooms and suites, as well as 225 luxury apartments.

Our spacious, more than 350 square feet, wheelchair-accessible, deluxe guestroom featured two queen beds. The decor’s color palette of grays and browns evoked a modern, although somewhat masculine, vibe. Floor-to-ceiling windows looked out on the city. A small desk with a 49-inch television hanging above and a reading chair with lamp completed the furniture arrangement.  Amenities included a robe, coffeemaker and a bar with curated bourbons. Omni Select Guest Loyalty members receive complimentary WiFi.  A bedside charging station and reading lights were much appreciated. The elegant bathroom with marble finishes provided ample turning radius for a wheelchair user.

The hotel has all the services one would expect at a AAA Four Diamond property, and so much more.  There’s a rooftop swimming pool, the Mokara Salon and Spa, a 24-hour fitness center, bars, two restaurants, room service, an art gallery and retail shops.

The Falls City Market is an urban market where you can sit and have lunch or a tasty treat. We sampled tacos from a food truck and cookies from a bakery. The grocery includes locally made items, fun things for yourself or as a gift. How about a jar of barbecue sauce?

People gravitate to Library Bar with its long, modern fireplace, and dozens of cozy seating areas. Walls lined with books and art create homey touches in this lobby living room. The space easily transitions from a tranquil retreat for laptop lovers by day to the gathering spot for cocktails after five.

We almost missed the hotel’s speakeasy, appropriately tucked down a hallway. Pin + Proof serves vintage cocktails and nostalgic bites beside four professional-sized bowling lanes. Sip a Bee’s Knees while munching on an order of Maker’s smoked deviled eggs or prime beef bourbon balls. Bowling costs $100 per hour for up to six people. The swanky decor creates an instantly intimate and fun atmosphere.

Everything about the Omni Louisville reflects the culture of its locale. The elegant property remains playful and welcoming. Whether you are visiting Louisville for business or pleasure, make a reservation early. We predict the Omni will be a popular choice for decades to come.
