If you’re still on a quest to find the ultimate wellness bliss, here’s an address to consider: The Vessyl, a brand-new wellness resort located beneath Costa Rica’s Arenal Volcano. That’s right — this unique destination, complete with a Frequency Dome, is positioned beneath an active volcano. Not to worry: Experts assure Arenal is in a “resting phase,” and if you subscribe to theories about energy healing, proximity to all that unexpressed power may just work in your favor.
Located on a 118-acre stretch of rainforest and created by Charlotte’s Web CBD founder Josh Stanley, The Vessyl can hold up to 33 guests at a time. Stays in a luxurious setting with chef-driven dining options focus on programs built toward immersive wellness experiences, recovery expeditions or nature-based adventures — each with a healing component designed to help guests head home with a new sense of balance and wellbeing.
“Healing should feel alive,” said Stanley. “It should feel like music, laughter, adventure, nature and being with other people. We are not trying to help people escape their lives. We are trying to help them reconnect to them.”
Opportunities for those connections include rituals held within Frequency Dome. This immersive sound haven is also a recording studio, developed with Grammy Award-winning acoustician George Augspurger. Experiences offered within this space include the Quantum Self Session, breathwork, vibrational yoga, yoga nidra, meditation, and mindfulness sessions that incorporate spatial audio and immersive visuals. The Dome rests on a custom floating floor embedded with 24 transducers said to allow frequency to flow through vibrations, as well as through sound. Enjoy sacred chants and ancestral songs during Voices in the Dark, vibrational Tuning Forks healing, Qi and Chai, and a Vibrational Sweat Lodge. Other offerings include evening performances and live music, bird and wildlife watching, personal Quantum Readings, and horse bonding experiences.
“We are entering a period where technology is moving faster than human beings can keep up with,” added Stanley. “People are overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious and craving something real. The Vessyl was built to bring people back to nature, to community, to presence and to themselves.”
Accommodations range from private villas to glamping spaces and a signature treehouse. The property is located about a three-hour drive from San José International Airport (SJO) and 2.5 hours from Liberia International Airport (LIR).

Oct 7, 2026Review: Prestige Oceanfront Resort
Vancouver Island gets progressively wilder as you leave Victoria behind and follow the coastline west. By the time you reach Sooke, about 45 minutes from the provincial capital, city blocks have surrendered to forests, rocky shoreline, sheltered coves and long views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Prestige Oceanfront Resort rises directly above Sooke Harbour, where boats move across the basin, and the Olympic Mountains form the horizon beyond the strait.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
