After a two-week drydock respite and refresh, Princess Cruises’ Sapphire Princess is ready to sail with two new dining venues for guests’ enjoyment. Starting Nov. 16, Makoto Ocean Sushi by Chef Makoto Okuwa and Crown Grill Steakhouse will be available for $60 per person as a specialty dining option for guests choosing to book the Princess Premier package.
At Makoto Ocean Sushi by Chef Makoto Okuwa, Edomae-style sushi is the menu star, with delectable choices including truffle salmon, snow crab temaki and toro tartare. Meals can be enjoyed with handcrafted cocktails such as the Genmai Negroni — reimagined with a distinctly Japanese panache. Or try a Kodai No Hana, which combines an ancient sake called Doburoku with yuzu juice. For those already familiar with the layout of Sapphire Princess, Makoto Ocean Sushi now occupies the space on Deck 7 previously filled by the Internet Café.

On Deck 5, award-winning Crown Grill Steakhouse can be found where the Savoy Dining Room was before. Recognized as one of the very best ship steakhouses at sea, the menu offers a hearty menu of premium aged beef, chops and fresh seafood.
“With the addition of Makoto Ocean and Crown Grill, our guests aboard Sapphire Princess will enjoy two of our most popular dining experiences, elevating the culinary journey across her itineraries,” said Sami Kohen, vice president of food and beverage, Princess Cruises. “We’re especially proud to bring these enhancements as Sapphire Princess prepares for remarkable seasons ahead, including our historic dual-ship deployment in Japan in 2027.”
Guests can enjoy these new dining choices on upcoming sailings to Mexico prior to the ship’s repositioning for an array of South American and Antarctica itineraries. Later, during spring and summer of 2026, Sapphire Princess will head to the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, followed by fall sailings to Canada and New England. In March 2027, both Sapphire Princess and her sister ship Diamond Princess will sail from Tokyo on a series of Japan itineraries.
