SB Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites, the luxury boutique hotel created by winemaker Susana Balbo and her daughter Ana Lovaglio Balbo, recently announced the launch of a new program, The Winemaker’s Mystery Escapes. This new experience eliminates the hassles of traditional vacation planning and brings an exciting twist to discovering the destination. This new concept is offered to groups taking over the Winemaker’s seven spa suites, and allows guests to partake in the growing trend of surprise and spontaneous travel.

Guests start by choosing their travel group; preferred trip dates; and niche interests such as wine and gastronomy, spa wellness, outdoor adventures or a combination of all three. Once those are decided, the property’s Experience Manager takes over and begins to create an itinerary that will be completely secret until guests arrive on the estate. Each Mystery Escape is crafted based on guests’ interests and preferences to totally ensure each activity, dining experience and wellness treatment aligns with their expectations, all while still offering an element of surprise.
The program wouldn’t be a success without the Experience Manager, a dedicated specialist. The designer and keeper of the secret itinerary just needs a minimum of two weeks’ notice to create the perfect surprise itinerary.
Whether it’s private vineyard tastings at hidden bodegas, chef’s table meals, sunrise hot-air ballooning or intimate spa experiences, every moment will be unforgettable.

I was surprised to learn Denmark consistently ranks among the world’s happiest countries. Sure, Scandinavia is lovely, but that Nordic weather hardly seemed conducive to soaring serotonin levels. When I finally visited Copenhagen, it all made sense. Whether you’re a fashionista, a Michelin-star chaser, a Viking history buff or just a curious traveler, the Danish capital promises an endless feast.
