Marriott Bonvoy recently announced it enhanced its partnership with Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer, improving the conversion rate of KrisFlyer miles to Marriott Bonvoy points and increasing the annual transfer cap. The changes are offered as a greater ongoing, evergreen benefit, replacing previous limited-time transfer bonuses.
In other words, frequent travelers with Singapore Airlines can now put their miles to greater benefit with Marriott Bonvoy. Think getting 50 percent more points when transferring from your airline account to your Marriott Bonvoy account.
Key enhancements and updates include an improved conversion rate. Four KrisFlyer miles equals three Marriott Bonvoy points. Previously, the conversion rate was two KrisFlyer miles to one Marriott Bonvoy point. Additionally, the increased annual cap transfer goes from 180,000 to 250,000 KrisFlyer miles per member.
There’s also greater redemption potential. Members maximizing the new cap with the new conversion rate can convert up to 187,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, up from 90,000 points previously. Travelers can then redeem miles for flights, upgrades, car rentals, shopping, dining and more.
These changes are effective as of April 1.
“The improved conversion rate and higher transfer cap directly respond to what our members are seeking, reinforcing the value of loyalty,” said Ramesh Daryanani, managing vice president, Global Sales, Loyalty Operations and Partnerships, Marriott International, Asia Pacific excluding China. “By making these enhancements permanent, we are giving members a wider range of redemption opportunities and greater access to the world of Marriott Bonvoy.”
Like Marriott Bonvoy’s partnership with Singapore Airlines, the hotel brand also offers a similar conversion rate with Japan Airlines. Travelers with Japan Airlines’ JAL Mileage Bank can enjoy four miles to three Marriott Bonvoy points.
Marriott Bonvoy also offers partnerships with loyalty programs including Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, United Airlines, ANA, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Hawaiian/Alaska Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines.
