Lufthansa is adding non-stop flights between mainland Europe and Ottawa starting next year. The route will operate in conjunction with Air Canada.
The flights will run between Frankfurt (FRA) and Ottawa (YOW); meanwhile, Air Canada is discontinuing its Frankfurt–Ottawa (YOW) service after Oct. 24.
Lufthansa’s new flight will operate daily except Wednesdays and Fridays. The airline will deploy its 279-seater Airbus A340-300, with business, premium-economy and economy seating.
Lufthansa did not say whether it will fly the Ottawa route year-round. The flight is currently timed to accommodate connections from elsewhere in Europe, plus other destinations.
Other Lufthansa Group members (including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and SWISS) plan to market the route, with support from other Star Alliance members like Air Canada and Scandinavia’s SAS.
Ottawa will be Lufthansa’s fourth Canadian destination, after Montreal (YUL), Toronto and Vancouver (YVR). Tickets for the new route are on sale now.
