Louis Vuitton just introduced its new Horizon Aluminum, the brand’s first-ever aluminum suitcase created in collaboration with industrial designer Marc Newson. The product launch marks the 10th anniversary of the Horizon collection. Louis Vuitton and Newson wanted to create a revolutionary and reliable suitcase that would be to 21st-century travelers what the trunk once was to Louis Vuitton’s contemporaries.
The Horizon suitcase debuted in 2016 and, now, it embarks on a new chapter with the Horizon Aluminum. Renowned for its boundless recyclability and durability, the Horizon Aluminum features a shell created through a series of stamping and laser-cutting processes. The stamping process allows aluminum sheets to be shaped while retaining the rounded curves forming the signature features of the Horizon suitcase.
Rivets and hinges are invisible, similar to a watch mechanism, making the Horizon Aluminum’s clean lines the star of the suitcase and maximizing space. The Trolley system is on the outside of the case, while the interior lining is thermoformed to create a perfectly flat main compartment. The main compartment also features two retaining straps, while the zipped upper compartment houses a zipped picket.
Its extra-wide telescopic handle provides exceptional grip and ease of rolling, and enlarged wheels, crafted from a flexible material, absorb shock and vibrations for a smooth and noise-free experience. A high handle and leather-covered side also make the suitcase easy to carry by hand.
In addition to its shell and frame, the suitcase comes fitted with TSA-certified locks. A protective cover with openings for the wheels, top handle and trolley protects the suitcase during storage while allowing for discreet mobility. A leather luggage tag can double as a bag hook to secure any extra bag on top of the suitcase.
The Horizon 55 measures 15 inches long, 21.7 inches tall and 8.3 inches wide. $4,700.

Jul 14, 2026Global City Guidebook: Casablanca, Morocco
Its name familiarity may have grown after the 1942 film of the same name, but Casablanca has been a business and economic hub in Morocco, the Maghreb region and Arab world for centuries. The largest city in Morocco, Casablanca’s ideal location on the Atlantic Ocean has made it one of the largest artificial ports in Africa. In recent years many global financial companies have set up within the city, intertwined with a diverse mix of places of worship, the Old Medina and grand squares.
