Longfellow Hotel recently began welcoming guests. The 48-room boutique hotel comes from Maine-based, family-owned hospitality group Uncommon Hospitality. Award-winning design studio Post Company is behind the hotel’s design. The property marks the first independent, full-service hotel opening in Portland in more than two decades.

“We’re thrilled to finally welcome guests to The Longfellow, a project that we’ve lovingly infused with Portland’s proud, independent spirit, and the entrepreneurial ethos of our surrounding neighborhood,” said Tony DeLois, co-founder and COO, Uncommon Hospitality.

The hotel is named after poet and Portland native Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Post Company imbues the design with Portland and New England charm, honoring traditional architecture and highlighting works from local artists.

“Our design for The Longfellow honors the city’s history and wild beauty, and also nods to the integrity of the surrounding buildings,” said Jou-Yie Chou, partner, Post Company. “The interiors feel familiar, yet impart a true sense of place, by blending contemporary elements with traditional touches to evoke a modern timelessness. The design establishes a sequence of spaces that invites visitors in, while handsome details encourage them to linger and indulge.”

Global Travelers Optimize Their Time to Balance Business and Leisure

For today’s global executives, time is the ultimate luxury. As such, they increasingly design business trips to make the most of their time away. Bleisure travel, once a fringe perk embraced by the savviest travelers, evolved into a strategic consideration for today’s business travelers. With schedules busier than ever and work/life balance top of mind, business travelers intentionally blend productivity with restoration — and companies are taking note.

Best of Both Worlds

Enjoy the best of both worlds when you fly with TAP Air Portugal thanks to the Portugal Stopover program. With the program, TAP passengers, whether traveling for business, leisure or both, can stop in Portugal for up to 10 days at no additional airfare on the way to their final destination. What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from  Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.

Turks and Caicos Builds Economic and Environmental Resilience

Let's talk geology. Caribbean Islands fall into three main types: volcanic (most of the Lesser Antilles, from Saba down to Grenada), continental fragments (including Cuba, Jamaica, and Trinidad) and limestone remnants of coral reefs (notably, the Bahamas and — relevant to us here — Turks and Caicos).
