Loews Regency New York Hotel recently announced experiences at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, part of the hotel’s enhanced Local by Loews Hotels offerings. Guests have the rare opportunity to experience intimate, thematic tours of The Met’s renowned collection.

The private tours are offered as part of The Met’s Corporate Patron Program. Limited to only 10 guests per session, The Met’s esteemed museum educators lead the intimate tours, starting Wednesdays at 4 p.m., when the museum is closed to the public.

Explore fashion through the ages and what garments can reveal to us about the cultures that created them. This tour explores clothing represented in paint, stone, wood and other media across the museum’s collections.

Seeing Silence: The Paintings of Helene Schjerfbeck – Wednesday, March 11 at 4 p.m.

Beloved in Nordic countries for her highly original style, Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck (1862–1946) is relatively unknown to the rest of the world. She overcame immense personal struggles and worked in a remote location for decades to produce her powerful body of work.

Arts of the Ancient Americas – Wednesday, April 8 at 4 p.m.

This tour visits works from different periods and in different media, focusing on the ways in which the selection of specific materials shaped the work’s meaning.
