Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue immerses guests in the colorful realism of artist Alex Katz with a new promotion celebrating his permanent art collection at the hotel and current showcase at the world-famous Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Through June 26, the hotel invites guests to discover Katz’s highly stylized aesthetic with The Artful Escape, offering overnight accommodations as well as two passes to the Met.

Starting from $1,100, the deal includes a stay of at least two nights in one of Langham Place’s oversized rooms, boasting The DUX Bed, marble-clad bathrooms with soaking tubs and separate rainfall shower and unparalleled views of the city skyline; daily breakfast for two; and a special in-room amenity from the hotel’s expert culinary team.

When not enjoying the comforts of their guestroom and sights of the city, guests can take their two complimentary passes to the Met to explore the museum’s exhibitions, one of which is from Katz. The exhibition includes eight works spanning nearly the entire arc of Katz’s career, featuring drawings, paintings and prints. Featured pieces include two cutouts, the innovative artistic device Katz pioneered in the late 1950s; a haunting cityscape; several portraits of Ada, Katz’s wife and long-time muse; and portraits of luminaries from Katz’s own social and artistic circles.

A New York native born in Brooklyn in 1927, Katz is hailed as “one of our era’s most acclaimed artists,” according to the Met. Following the completion of a recent renovation, the hotel added a one-of-a-kind collection celebrating the work of this master artist. Original art works, lithographs and block prints are featured throughout the property.
