Korean Air and Delta Air Lines expand Seamless Baggage Transfer from Incheon International Airport to both Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, further improving the travel experience for customers flying from Korea to the United States by saving up to 30 minutes when connecting in the United States.
Seamless Baggage Transfer allows checked baggage to be screened prior to arrival in the United States, eliminating the need for customers to collect and recheck bags during connections. Through this expansion, Seamless Baggage Transfer is now available across five major U.S. gateways, including Atlanta (ATL), Minneapolis (MSP) and Detroit (DTW). This includes both Delta and Korean Air customers connecting through Incheon from across Asia to these five U.S. cities.
Baggage is screened at Incheon using advanced X-ray technology and then securely reviewed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection before the flight lands. Customers can then proceed directly to their connecting gate (similar to a domestic transfer), while their bags are automatically transferred to their final destination.
Seamless Baggage Transfer has cut customs interactions at U.S. airports by more than 65 percent.
