Oita Prefecture in Southwestern Japan welcomes its first international luxury resort with the opening of ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa. The property is a joint venture between InterContinental Hotels Group and All Nippon Airways.
The property offers guests a unique, immersive experience with its Beppu Luxury Collage, which includes a stay in a suite and daytime activities such as bamboo weaving and calligraphy, learning authentic Japanese artistry and techniques from skilled craftsmen. Guests also enjoy elevated dining experiences, services of a private sommelier, a picnic lunch and dinner aboard the resort’s private yacht.
The resort features two large onsens, or hot springs, with an overlooking infinity pool. Private onsen rooms are available. Other public spaces include a small spa and five dining options.
“The opening of ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa presents a new era in travel for Beppu. The resort has been designed to embody the tremendously rich nature and history of the city, bringing to life a meaningful connection to the surrounds and offering a memorable stay for both locals and international guests alike,” said Stéphane Massarini, general manager, ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa.
