Travel to the Norwegian Arctic and Baltics just became easier for U.S. travelers thanks to Icelandair’s network expansion for the 2026/2027 season. The airline now connects high-demand destinations in Northern Norway and launches a new gateway into Poland, eliminating the need for North American travelers to navigate congested mega-hubs to reach some of Europe’s other destinations.
Beginning Oct. 23, Icelandair will conduct new twice-weekly flights to Tromsø (TOS). Paired with new, year-round service to Bergen (BGO), Norway is now a year-round destination for U.S. travelers. The route will be operated on the Boeing 737 MAX8.
And launching Sept. 18, Icelandair enters the Polish market with direct service to Gdánsk (GDN), linking North American travelers to Poland’s “Tricity” region. All new routes are also eligible for the Icelandair Stopover, allowing travelers to spend up to seven days in Iceland at no additional airfare before continuing to Norway or Poland.

Mar 13, 2026Revive and Relax at Finisterra Spa at Martinhal Sagres Family Beach Resort
Most visitors remember Portugal’s Algarve for its 100-plus miles of golden, sun-drenched beaches. Neither I nor my husband, Tim, had been fans of spas before that trip, but Finisterra made us believers.

Carved from the honeyed limestone of Matera’s ancient sassi, Vetera Matera is the only 5-star luxury albergo diffuso in the Relais & Châteaux portfolio, unfolding across restored cave dwellings within UNESCO-listed Sassi di Matera. After nearly eight years of meticulous restoration, the property reactivates a historic portion of Sasso Barisano, integrating contemporary hospitality into architecture shaped by human excavation since the Paleolithic era.
