Hyatt Hotels Corp. announced plans to open its third Hyatt-branded hotel in Colombia, joining Grand Hyatt Bogotá and Hyatt Regency Cartagena, all expected to open in 2016. Hyatt Regency Cali will be located in northwestern Cali in one of the city’s most popular and upscale neighborhoods in close proximity to Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO). The property will feature 218 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant, a bar, a fitness center, an indoor pool, a spa and approximately 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space. “Cali represents an important destination for a Hyatt Regency hotel because it is Colombia’s second largest city and a gateway to Latin America,” said Pat McCudden, senior vice president of real estate and development of Latin America and the Caribbean for Hyatt. “Expanding Hyatt’s brand presence in Colombia is a critical component of our growth strategy for Latin America and Caribbean destinations and reaffirms Hyatt’s commitment to becoming the most preferred brand among business and leisure travelers in the region.” Hyatt currently operates and is developing more than 30 properties across Latin America and the Caribbean.
