Sitting above the harbor at the crest of Bellevue Avenue, Hotel Viking is ready to welcome guests and locals alike after an extensive transformation. Hotel Viking now offers a sense of elegance in its public spaces including the lobby, guestrooms and dining venues.
Newport’s founding families built the space originally as a gathering place for conversation and celebration, serving as a cultural anchor for the city. Now, redesigned Hotel Viking still serves that purpose, but with an updated look. Design firm Beleco honored the building’s legacy while also incorporating a fresh and modern look. The residential look, welcoming furniture and attention to detail creates spaces that feel inviting and calm.
At the heart of the hotel’s renovation is the new culinary program. This dynamic program is led by Rhode Island natives chef Robert Andreozzi, a two-time James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: Northeast, and Jesse Hedberg, a semifinalist for Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service. Together, the two own Pizza Marvin and Club Frills in Providence.
Now they take their skills to the hotel, introducing four new concepts. Each restaurant offers its own unique characteristics while still offering a coastal New England character. The restaurants include Pescadou, offering French Riviera-inspired seafood dishes; Cap Club, a rooftop bar perfect for delicious drinks, light bites, golden hour and good views; Skoal Room, Hotel Viking’s storied bar for the past 50 years but with a new program led by Hedberg; and Tuck Shop, a welcoming café and market with made-to-order pastries, coffee and grab-and-go items.

Its name familiarity may have grown after the 1942 film of the same name, but Casablanca has been a business and economic hub in Morocco, the Maghreb region and Arab world for centuries. The largest city in Morocco, Casablanca’s ideal location on the Atlantic Ocean has made it one of the largest artificial ports in Africa. In recent years many global financial companies have set up within the city, intertwined with a diverse mix of places of worship, the Old Medina and grand squares.
