Holland America Line will soon undergo the Holland America Evolution, a multiyear investment to reimagine six of its ships. The plan makes it the most ambitious guest experience update in the company’s 153-year history. Holland America Evolution intends to deliver a comprehensive, bow-to-stern revitalization while bringing the best of its Pinnacle Class ships across most of its fleet.

Renovations will take place ship by ship, delivering transformations focused on expanding onboard choices, adding restaurant and bar options, and refreshing and reinventing key guest spaces (including new stateroom and suite categories). These changes aim to also maintain the spacious design and intimate ship feel guests value most with Holland America Line.

Evolution will span the four Holland America Vista Class ships (Oosterdam, Zuiderdam, Westerdam and Noordam) and two Signature Class ships (Nieuw Amsterdam and Eurodam). Oosterdam will be the first to undergo renovations, debuting in fall 2027.

The cruise line has already revealed a first look at several guest-focused enhancements to the ship, including the addition of Grand Dutch Café (previously only available on Pinnacle Class ships), new stateroom offerings (including purpose-built Solo Verandahs and panoramic suites) and more. The vessel will add 76 staterooms in total. The new Bridgeview suites will boast ocean views, 900 square feet of space, a wraparound balcony, and separate living and sleeping areas.

Sustainability also plays a crucial role in fleet renovations, improving efficiency and reducing overall environmental impact.
