Holland America Line announced the launch of a new interactive program changing the way guests experience destinations.
Explorations Central, or EXC as it will be called, is an industry-first program that combines travel resources and enrichment opportunities for guests, aimed at making travel experiences more unique, engaging and meaningful. Serving as a hub of information, EXC will be located on the entire Holland America fleet by the end of 2017, in the space currently occupied by the Crow’s Nest.
EXC will allow guests to learn about local customs, taste local foods, hear tales and gain insight into each port of call. Guests can also ask advice from the EXC Guides about best tours, popular sites and where to go to feel like a local, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the destinations they visit.
“Explorations Central is revolutionizing the way we deliver destinations to our guests, and it’s going to profoundly change how our guests are immersed in the history, culture and cuisine of the places we visit,” said Orlando Ashford, president, Holland America Line. “Those who see the world better understand the world; and when we better understand the world we can gain insights into ourselves and personally experience the transformative effects of travel. EXC is going to show our guests the world in a whole new way and enable them to engage in truly meaningful experiences.”
The EXC shipboard center will debut aboard ms Westerdam in April 2017.
