Hilton Worldwide announced the expansion of its presence in Saudi Arabia with the opening of Hilton Suites Makkah, the hotel group’s fifth property in the country. Located a short distance from Jeddah International Airport and many of the city’s holy sites, Hilton Suites Makkah features 480 guestrooms split between two towers. The hotel offers guests a 24-hour fitness center, a 24-hour business center, an in-house clinic for instant medical care, five dining venues and two meeting spaces. “Saudi Arabia has seen a steadily increasing number of religious and business travelers over the past years. As the world’s largest pilgrimage site, Makkah attracts millions of people from every corner of the world during the annual Hajj and the seasonal Umrah pilgrimage,” said Rudi Jagersbacher, president, Hilton Worldwide Middle East & Africa. “Hilton Worldwide entered the holy city 19 years ago with its maiden property Makkah Hilton & Towers, the first international hotel to open in Makkah. The opening of Hilton Suites Makkah complements the existing hotel and supports the growing pace of visitors going to Makkah.”
