Grand Hyatt Kuwait officially opened its doors earlier this month. With interiors inspired by the country’s legacy of sailing, dhow building and pearl diving, designer Meyer Davis ensured each detail within the hotel exudes themes of exploration and opulence.

The dramatic hotel lobby includes an exceptional art program celebrating the region, as well as white drapery surrounding the outskirts of the room for a dreamy effect. Large-scale work of art were commissioned specifically for the hotel, creating a distinguished feeling of grandeur while also remaining connected to the region.

The 302-room hotel boasts large-scale artwork by Tracie Cheng in each room, as well as signature wooden parquet flooring, book-matched marble in the bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and carefully planned dressing spaces.

“The goal was conveying an authentic pride-of-place through design. There is a cultural steadfastness in Kuwait that has created a commitment to preserving and honoring the nation’s history,” said Meyer Davis. “At the same time, there is an openness to modernization. We felt it was crucial that the design, craft, and storytelling on display at Grand Hyatt Kuwait was reflective of that great sense of national pride.”

The hotel also boasts the Noor spa and indoor pool and 2,800 square meters of event space. In the events foyer, guests will find a spectacular sky-gazing atrium adorned with white geometric patterns. Grand Hyatt Kuwait also includes pre-event places, such as the bridal suite, a plush boardroom and a fully functional executive office, all adorned with vertical paneling, lacquer doors and sturdy geometric designs.

The new Grand Hyatt property marks just one of many recent openings of Grand Hyatt hotels across the world.
