This is a big year for Philadelphia as “The Birthplace of America” gets ready to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday, host MLB’s All-Star Weekend and serve as a host city for FIFA World Cup 2026. All eyes will look to the city with the big events this summer, but Philadelphia always offers a good time with its history, the arts, delicious food, and plenty of fun and sporting events.
GETTING THERE & AROUND
Philadelphia International Airport serves Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs. There are several options for reaching the city, including rideshares (Uber/Lyft), fixed-rate taxis, SEPTA regional rail airport line and rental cars. The designated pick-up and drop-off zones are located on the South Commercial Roadway, directly outside baggage claim. While visiting Philadelphia, travelers can get their steps in and take advantage of the walkable city. Those who choose not to walk or who are heading to different Philly neighborhoods can use rideshares and public transportation such as buses and the subway.
