Denver-based Frontier Airlines recently recounted its many accomplishments of 2021. After becoming publicly traded last April, Frontier Airlines continued to see more growth as the airline heads into another year.
“From becoming a publicly-traded company in April, to adding more than 130 routes and nearly ten international destinations to Frontier’s route network, and ordering 91 new Airbus A321neo aircraft, we’ve demonstrated the incredible growth our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ business model is capable of,” said Barry Biffle, president and CEO, Frontier Airlines.
In 2021 alone, Fronter added 14 more Airbus A320 aircraft to its fuel-efficient Airbus fleet. This addition coincides with the airline’s commitment to create more sustainable flying options. The airline also grew its Low Fares Done Right route map by 132 routes, 21 destinations and nine countries.
Frontier Airlines hired more than 670 new flight attendants and 170 pilots in 2021 and will continue to welcome more crew members in 2022. Added bases like Tampa (TPA) and Atlanta (ATL) expanded the company’s local benefit with new jobs and more attractive base options for team members.
By 2029, the airline plans to add another 91 A321neo aircraft, Airbus’ newest and most fuel-efficient aircraft yet. The airline seeks to strengthen its position as America’s Greenest Airline after earning the title in 2021. With several strategic agreements, including a deal with manufacturer Pratt & Whitney for ultra-efficient GTF engines to power its aircraft, Frontier Airlines continues to find and implement fuel-saving technology.
“The Frontier team showed outstanding resilience and determination this year to accomplish unprecedented results,” Biffle noted. “As we look forward to 2022, we’re excited to continue this momentum with new, greener, aircraft joining our fleet, and many more exciting new route opportunities for our customers.”
As 2022 begins, Frontier Airlines continues to grow and deliver on the mission of providing affordable travel across the United States. The airline currently operates more than 110 A320 family aircraft and has the largest A320neo fleet in the country, with even more aircraft, flight attendants, pilots and new routes.

Half a century ago, several architecturally significant buildings not only changed the face of Chicago but also reintroduced the city as a world-class travel destination. Roughly a year after the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) emerged as the then world’s tallest building, Hyatt Regency Chicago opened its doors in August 1974. A second tower was constructed in 1980, making it one of the most ambitious hotels the city had seen, down to its above-ground skyway and underground concourse.
