Fort Lauderdale’s next waterfront destination is currently under construction for a 2028 debut, bringing a new marine aquarium, reimagined International Swimming Hall of Fame, public promenade and rooftop dining to the city. Named The Water District, the 5-acre development is built for repeat, all-day experiences.

A state-of-the-art aquarium will be centered around a 10,000-gallon tank featuring interactive screens. The redesigned International Swimming Hall of Fame, the only facility in the Western Hemisphere with official World Aquatics recognition, will also grace the space, drawing governing bodies, world champions and aquatic fans from across the globe.

Alongside the museum will be Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center, with a dive tower and grandstand for spectators.

A High Line-inspired elevated promenade will connect two buildings into one seamless waterfront experience, keeping visitors on foot with long-term potential to extend to the ocean.

A rooftop restaurant managed by Apogee Lauderdale will offer panoramic views of the Intracoastal, as well as premier event spaces ideal for corporate launches, fundraisers and exclusive black-tie galas. V.I.P. suites will provide a luxurious touch.

The Waterfront District will also include Frameless, an immersive digital art experience transforming iconic works from across art history into a fully immersive environment.
