London’s newest cultural destination, The Chancery Rosewood made its much-anticipated grand opening earlier this fall. Within this short time period, the property has become one of the most talked-about hospitality venues in Europe. After all, the building was the former U.S. Embassy on Grosvenor Square, a celebrated location once known as London’s “Little America.”

This London design icon has been reborn as an extraordinary architectural restoration into a deluxe hotel property by British architect Sir David Chipperfield, maintaining its status as one of London’s most notable architectural masterpieces. The all-suite property now welcomes guests with eight restaurants and bars, an expansive Asaya Spa, and 144 suites and communal spaces designed by French interior architect Joseph Dirand. Each suite reflects Dirand’s vision, craftsmanship and the property’s storied past.

Originally designed by the noted Finnish/American architect Eero Saarinen in 1960, the building’s original eagle sculpture, crafted from a B-52 bomber’s aluminum by Theodore Roszak, remains high on the building, overlooking the greenery of Grosvenor Square and London’s skyline.

Bathed in natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, suites offer some of London’s most captivating views. The color palette of warm tones punctuated with gold anodized aluminum accents complement the building’s original stone façade.

Accommodation types include junior suites, suites, signature suites and houses, the largest accommodation at The Chancery Rosewood. Houses, complete with views of Mayfair, Hyde Park or the London skyline, were created for larger groups or for entertaining. Some of the more prominent guests linked to the houses include Saarinen House, John Adams House, Kennedy House and Chancery House. Two penthouses, Charles House and Elizabeth, sit atop the property on the seventh floor.

The Chancery Rosewood property includes an art concierge and 700 pieces of art, the largest collection of artwork in a European hotel. Artists have been commissioned to create artwork for certain spaces, including British painter Sir Christopher Le Brun, whose art can be found above the main fireplace, and textile designer Sussy Cazalet, with a series of pieces for the Entrance Hall.

The Chancery Rosewood continues Rosewood’s legacy of curating unique and culturally enriching stays for guests, which includes the use of a house car for transfers to and from the property. The property also offers hyper-personalized experiences celebrating contemporary creativity and a progressive exchange of ideas.

The property debuts five exceptional new restaurants and bars, as well as Carbone, the first European outpost of the New York City cult favorite dining venue. Other outlets include Serra, with Italian and Greek cuisine; Jacqueline, a tearoom and dessert salon led by Executive Pastry Chef Marius Dufay; and Tobi Massa, which debuts London Chef Masayoshi ‘Masa’ Takayama, with modern Japanese cuisine.

Other dining venues include GSQ, Mayfair’s neighborhood delicatessen for coffee, freshly baked pastries, seasonal salads, sandwiches and shareable snacks; and Eagle Bar, the property’s rooftop destination with a wraparound terrace, a bar, an impressive cocktail list and bar snacks.

Wellness at Asaya Spa offers London a sophisticated new wellness space. The large, subterranean space, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, is home to Taktouk Clinic, a fitness center  with the Artis Luxury line by Technogym, an 82-foot-long swimming pool and five treatment rooms. Facilities also include a sauna, steam room, cold plunge, relaxation areas, studio and personal training.

MoodsPro, the new science-led treatment concept from modern aromatherapy brand Moods, debuts at Asaya Spa to offer exclusive signature massages. The bespoke treatment menu includes a NeuroFusion treatment massage that targets both the muscular and nervous systems through advanced muscular techniques and potent aromatic body oils.

Designed for meetings and events of all sizes, The Chancery Rosewood is an exceptional venue to host intimate celebrations; spaces include a state-of-the-art grand ballroom with a capacity of  750 guests.

Entrepreneur Travelers Embrace Flexibility but Also Face Unique Challenges

Business travel is business travel ... right? Well, not if you’re an entrepreneur. Traditional business travelers are beholden to corporate travel policies, forced to book via a dedicated platform or with certain brands, and restricted by their employers’ duty of care. When it comes to entrepreneur travel, however, anything and everything is an option — and travel brands, from airlines to hotels and beyond are taking notice and adjusting their offerings accordingly.
