Finnair is adding a new seasonal service to Sapporo (CTS), Japan, for this winter. It will fly twice a week, Dec. 15, 2019–March 27, 2020.
The new service flies nonstop and marks Finnair’s fifth destination in Japan after Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. The flight will take approximately nine hours, which reduces travel time by cutting stopovers and transfers.
Japan is a “key market” for Finnair, said Christian Lesjack, senior vice president of network and resource management. He added, “Finnair is the only European airline to fly a scheduled route to Sapporo, and with five key Japanese cities in our network, we are now the largest European carrier flying to Japan.”
The airline will use its Airbus A330-300 on the route.
Finnair has expanded its routes in the Asia-Pacific region, including adding a new codeshare agreement with China Southern. It’s also increased frequency on its Hong Kong (HKG) route.
