Explora Journeys recently introduced Mandala, a new fine jewelry brand to be available exclusively onboard its fleet, during an intimate celebratory party on EXPLORA I. This is a first for the ocean travel brand.
The collection was inspired by the cruise line’s emblem, a symbol rooted in the vision of the Aponte-Vago family. The logo takes a unique spin on the ancient mandala, which represents harmony between individual experiences and the wider universe. Inside the emblem, the geometry unfolds inside a perfect circle, serving as a symbol of wholeness and infinite energy. A lotus flower motif is also included in the logo to symbolize purity of body, speech and mind, as well as a fleur-de-lis to highlight the brand’s European heritage.
Mandala Fine Jewellery was created in collaboration with designer Fanny Blanchelande to design pieces inspired by conversations around the family’s connection to the sea, their appreciation toward symbolism and their vision for ocean living. Precious metals and hued gemstones are combined with contemporary materials like enamel, ceramic, titanium and aluminum.
The debut featured three design lines, each highlighting a unique part of the brand’s maritime philosophy: Origin focuses on the family’s signature emblem and translates ancient geometry into powerful designs of balance and transformation, specifically designed to live close to the skin; Horizon captures the unique connecting point between sea and sky, embodying calm sophistication and the luxury of open space, while reflecting shimmer and movement; and Odyssey draws on the Mediterranean spirit and uses the emotional language of color, light and mosaic patterns to create playful pieces.
Available exclusively on board EXPLORA III on her inaugural journey, the collection will be showcased within a dedicated space in the ship’s jewelry boutique, Ocean Atelier. The line currently features a selection of a few pieces, with new pieces expected to be introduced in the months ahead.
