The stiff environment of a hotel can add an element of staleness to a vacation, but home-sharing properties, like Airbnb homes, can present another host of issues, like false listings, questionable owners and constantly changing regulations by city.
Enter Domio, a startup based in New York City, with a goal of redefining rental properties by touting “comfort of a home, confidence of a hotel.”
Currently present in six U.S. cities (Austin, Boston, Chicago, Nashville, New Orleans and San Diego), Domio promises larger homes in prime locations, each with unique style and comfort. Its “apartment-hotels” cater to group travel that allow guests to share a space, but also enjoy privacy — often necessary when traveling with a group. Domio also advertises properties as stylish with spaces conceptualized by top interior designers, including accents that help the property feel more like home.
The Domio team vets and manages all properties, and staff is on call for concierge services 24/7.
