Passengers onboard Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth can enjoy an exclusive new holistic spa concept at Canyon Ranch’s Spa at Sea: Mareel Wellness & Beauty, developed in collaboration with Canyon Ranch. The name itself evokes the sea: “Mareel” derives from the Old Norse word marueldr, meaning phosphorescence of the sea. There’s even a new décor drawing from the colors of the ocean; new spaces that include a couple’s suite where seaweed bathing rituals are performed; a meditation room fitted with acoustic resonance loungers; a redesigned multifunctional fitness center with studio space; an aqua therapy center; and new sound therapy facilities in each treatment room.

Products will adhere to guidelines that include socially responsible production practices, including sustainably harvested, biodynamic organic ingredients gathered in the wild and free of toxins. Brands include Red Flower, Shankara and Environ. Try them out in the new Ocean Discovery signature treatment with marine-based ingredients sustainably harvested in Western Ireland from the VOYA line. Other new therapies include the Taste of Ocean Full Body Experience, Organic Seaweed Leaf Wrap, Luminescence Massage and the Age-Defying Restorative Facial. While the new program launched on the QE, it will also be introduced on the Queen Victoria and iconic Queen Mary 2 in November 2020.
