The central pacific coast is one of Costa Rica’s most visited destinations. Located one hour from the main airport, Juan Santamaria (SJO), this area offers effortless access to Costa Rica’s beaches, rainforest, national parks and small towns where visitors can find shopping, dining and nightlife.
With the opening of Los Sueños Resort and Marina, the area also offers a world-class resort with the amenities most exigent travelers demand — 18-hole eco-golf course, a 200-slip marina, restaurants, bars and beach clubs. The resort offers a range of accommodations, from traditional 5- star hotels like Los Sueños Marriott, to private villas, homes and condominiums for those looking for additional privacy and comfort.
Los Sueños Marriot is finely appointed, has competitive rates and is a good option for single travelers and couples. Larger groups of three or more tend to stay in Los Sueños Condominiums, with different floorplans to accommodate different needs. Stay in Costa Rica is the premier rental company of Los Sueños Resort, helping travelers since 2002. The company offers a portfolio of more than 100 properties to choose from, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to eight-bedroom homes.
Los Sueños Rental Villas are the solution for larger groups or families, offering multiple rooms and private amenities, such as a swimming pool, Jacuzzis and exercise room. Ample dining rooms combined with chef services and terraces with private spa services transform these homes within the resort.
Los Sueños Resort Marina with 200 slips is Costa Rica’s main destination for sport fishing. The central pacific is a short run to blue water with abundant marine life. Offshore fishing offers marlin, sailfish, tuna and dorado (dolphin). Inshore fishing species include red snapper, rooster fish and snook.
The central pacific coast is packed with things to do and some of the best tours available in Costa Rica. For adventure-seekers, the central pacific offers a wide variety of options —zip-line tours, white-water rafting, all-terrain vehicles in the jungle, cannoning and surfing. Surfing is the area’s most popular activity and there are beaches for both beginner and advanced surfers.
Nature lovers can visit the two national parks, Carara and Manuel Antonio. Carara is 15 minutes from Los Sueños and a paradise for bird watchers. Manuel Antonio, 40 miles to the south, is one of Costa Rica’s most popular parks where pristine beaches meet the rainforest and it is inhabited by four species of monkeys, sloths, lizards and raccoons.

The area’s main town is called Jaco and offers a wide range of restaurants, from $4 local spots for traditional casado (a dish that combines, rice, beans, plantain, salad and one meat) to international restaurants with varied menus, including sushi, Italian and seafood. Jaco, while small, has the convenience of a medical clinic, pharmacies, supermarkets, banks, a post office and hardware stores. It also includes a movie theatre and a theater to enjoy both local and international plays.

Apr 22, 2024Meet 5 Women Shaping the Brixen/South Tyrol Travel Experience
Although a destination’s terrain, cuisine and cultural attributes always draw travelers in, it is often the people they meet that make the trip an enduring memory rather than a box to be checked off. It’s a job responsibility that people working around the Plose and adjoining town of Brixen (in Italy’s Trentino-Alto Adige region) take seriously. This is even more true for five women dedicated to introducing visitors to new aspects of the time-honored ski, leisure and hiking mountain destination in the Dolomites.

Apr 17, 2024Mindfulness City in Kingdom of Bhutan Unveiled as Future Economic Hub
In front of an audience of 30,000 Kingdom of Bhutan residents and officials, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck presented his vision for a new economic hub in Bhutan. Located between India to the south and China to the north, Bhutan is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Bhutan came late to global tourism. It opened its borders to international visitors in 1974 and, while tourism definitely increased, residents are enduring “light” rush-hour traffic in Thimphu, its capital city, as the only Asian capital without traffic lights.
