Amid all of the changes and rescheduling a lot of bride and grooms had to deal with over the last 14 months, I am happy to have finally attended a wedding … as scheduled! This past weekend, a great friend of mine said “I do” to her groom at sunset in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
Fortunately, the bride never had to change her date, send out multiple invitations and updates, or cancel altogether like many pandemic weddings. We all remained masked, but it was really nice to surround my friend with love and well wishes on her big day, no matter the circumstances.
The bride and groom exchanged rings in a town by the Jersey Shore. The spring evening was quite perfect for an event like this, and rain held off. The bride thanked her late grandmother for controlling the weather on her wedding day. After, we blew bubbles for the couple as they paraded down the aisle into the reception hall; we danced the rest of the night away and celebrated love and togetherness, which ultimately conquers all. The venue was so beautifully decorated as it sat next to a big pond with swans, a waterfall and a great view of the sunset. I will never forget this wedding — not because we were all masked and amid a pandemic, but because the bride, groom, their families, love and light were the highlights of the evening.

Mar 28, 2024Cruise Lines Elevate the Onboard Fine-Dining Experience
It’s been a long time since the food on cruise ships resembled the bland, uninspired fare that gave onboard dining a bad name. These days, cruise passengers can look forward to menus created by Michelin-starred chefs made with top-quality ingredients served in stunning spaces. Choices abound as well. In addition to elegant main dining rooms, cruise ships have created a huge array of specialty restaurants that focus not only on perfectly executed traditional European and North American dishes but flavors and experiences from around the globe as well. In fact, meals served aboard cruise vessels have gotten so good, they’re drawing passengers onto ships: According to a recent report by luxury travel planning network Virtuoso, advisors report after Europe (specifically Italy and France), the No. 2 dining destination for travelers is aboard an ocean or river cruise. “This shows how cruise lines have really stepped up their culinary game, with consulting chefs and new restaurants and making that a focal point,” said Misty Belles, vice president, Global Public Relations, Virtuoso.
