With Memorial Day Weekend bringing rain, rain and more rain, my husband and I made some plans but also left some time to take care of chores around the house and see where the weekend took us. On Friday night, to kick off the holiday, we decided to head out for happy hour and start the weekend with some cocktails.

Looking for somewhere interesting and new, we decided to meet a friend at Triple Sun Spirits, Co. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived, and we basically had the entire back room to ourselves. I think it was a combo of the holiday weekend, the bad weather and lingering COVID restrictions, but I can’t say I minded having space to catch up and play some of the games on offer at the distillery. We particularly enjoyed the shuffleboard table, but there was also large-scale Connect 4 and Jenga available, as well as darts. Comfortable couch seating complemented traditional high-top seating and a bar.
I particularly enjoyed the draft cocktail I ordered, with vodka, grape and sparkling soda, served in a Mason jar. My husband enjoyed a traditional dirty martini, while our friend opted for the distillery’s twist on a Moscow Mule. It was fun seeking out a new experience in our town, and I look forward to finding our next happy hour spot!
