For those who remember the late 90s’ and early 2000s’ boy bands, the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pa., was the place to be last night.
My friends and I went over after work and sang, danced and laughed for a few hours. The My2K Tour’s line up was right out of 1998–2001 with 98 Degrees, O-Town, Ryan Cabrera and Dream, which was an all-female group from the same era.
Expecting the venue to be general admission, we didn’t realize the seat number on our tickets until we walked in and saw we were in the ninth row, much closer to the stage than we expected. Every woman in the room — and a few men — sang along and cheered from beginning to end.
The headliners, 98 Degrees, really put on a show with matching camouflage pants and vests while singing their famous ballads. Whether ironic or genuine, everyone seemed fully into the show and completely enjoyed themselves.
