Labor Day Weekend is something I look forward to because it typically delivers my favorite weather to Philadelphia, along with time to relax and enjoy time off with family and friends. My birthday also happens to fall around Labor Day, which brings an added level of excitement and celebration. Here is how I spent my idea of a perfect weekend in Philadelphia.
Saturday
The weekend kicked off with a refreshing start as I attended a barre workout class led by my sister. After breaking a sweat, we headed to Parc, a staple spot in Philadelphia with a French vibe and a perfect menu. I ordered avocado toast and a mimosa to kick off the weekend of celebrations.
That night I was surprised with a birthday dinner at La Famiglia, a highly recommended, authentic Italian restaurant that had been on my “must-go” list for a while. My boyfriend not only surprised me with the restaurant choice; but when I arrived, I was surprised with some of our closest friends there to celebrate with us.
Sunday
On Sunday my sisters and I hosted our cousins from out of town for brunch at The Dandelion before we all headed to my mom’s house for a house warming/Labor Day party. Her new house downtown has a beautiful rooftop deck where we spent the rest of our evening soaking up the beautiful panoramic views of our city and celebrating her new home.
Tuesday: Birthday Bliss
The grand finale of my birthday celebrations came Tuesday. I spent the day soaking up the perfect weather, enjoying a barre class and lunch outside with my sister. As the sun began to set, the day concluded with a family dinner at Tuna Bar, known for its inventive seafood dishes and cozy atmosphere. The meal was the perfect end to a fantastic birthday week, filled with my favorite dining spots and my favorite people.
This weekend in Philadelphia was a perfect blend of fitness, food and family fun. From my favorite workout to rooftop festivities and a memorable birthday dinner, it was truly my perfect weekend that captured the essence of what makes this city so special.
