It was another hot, sunny day here in Sarasota, Florida. I thought I would go out for lunch and enjoy something light and refreshing. My mind went to an açai bowl and some sort of smoothie to pair with it. After seeing a recent Tik Tok video, I found a locally owned shop less than 10 minutes away I had been wanting to check out.

It was soon lunchtime, and after the short drive, I pulled into Passion Roots. It was a small building right off of Highway 41, making it accessible for those going in either direction. I walked into a vibrant building where plants and vines hung throughout. It was a very welcoming atmosphere, with light music playing in the background. It was clean and had, overall, a relaxing vibe. Many tables were arranged throughout, with guests catching up with one another while enjoying lunch.

After briefly looking through the menu, I knew immediately what I wanted. I decided on the Tropical Paradise smoothie made with pineapple, mango, coconut water and agave. I also ordered the Island açai bowl with mango, pineapple, granola and strawberry, topped with coconut flakes. Both the bowl and smoothie were made with 100 percent organic fruits and ingredients.

I received the smoothie first, and it was the perfect blend of mango and pineapple. (My absolute favorite!) I soon tried my aesthetically pleasing Island bowl, with all of my favorite fruits (blueberry, strawberry and pineapple). The crunch of the granola was the perfect mix with the fruits and the açai. Both the bowl and smoothie were refreshing and the ideal lunch for this hot, sunny day. I am sure I will be back to try more flavors!
