During my wonderful stay at The Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort, I took advantage of the lively beach atmosphere that surrounded me. During my stay I found that the Kimpton is in a great location, with the beach directly across and so many stores within walking distance. So I explored the area as I had to fit some sort of leisure in during my business trip, even after a long day of traveling.  First, I enjoyed some tasty and refreshing Mahi Mahi tacos that I ordered via room service, from my TV. (Yes, you read that correctly, my TV!)

Soon after finishing, I made my way out to the lively farmers market next door. I soon found out from chatting with vendors that this market occurs every Tuesday right here in Huntington Beach. I made my rounds, checking out what each vendor had to offer. I noticed the market offered a bit of everything ranging from various fresh produce, clothing and food trucks. Food was definitely not on my mind after just eating, but a refreshing pineapple drink captured my interest. I also decided on adding a new bracelet to my permanent jewelry collection. I enjoy adding a new bracelet when traveling or visiting a festival. Let’s just say each of the four bracelets are unplanned. The farmers market next door to the Kimpton was an absolute vibe, filled with all ages enjoying their evening in SoCal. I also saw and heard many local musicians playing in the street, where many set up chairs to relax and listen. It was a great evening with a large turnout, and it was only a Tuesday!  I just wished I had more energy to have enjoyed it more!

The next morning I took virtual meeting comfortably from my room while overlooking the Pacific Coast, a view one could never get tired of. I then headed downstairs to enjoy a complimentary coffee where I was able to continue to work in the open lobby space. The lobby was inviting and a comfortable space to relax and or get some work done. The lobby also offered a Ping-Pong table and outdoor cornhole. The lobby has a neat setup as one could sit indoors or outdoors as large doors could open to the outdoor space. Of course, during my visit the weather was perfect and the outdoor space was open.

I then headed to Pacific Hideaway (the restaurant at The Kimpton) for a light brunch. I decided on sitting on the outdoor patio where I had the perfect view of the pier and a light ocean breeze.  I enjoyed a refreshing acai bowl that had crunchy granola and fresh fruit displayed perfectly on top.  I also enjoyed a side of hash fries that were perfectly crisp. The delicious meal and the breathtaking view were a perfect way to enjoy the morning.

Later that afternoon I met with my new colleague for the first time (Liza) in the beautiful lobby area where we had plenty of space to get comfortable and get to know one another. After giving Liza all the great advice, we soon headed to dinner at Pacific Hideaway.

After arriving for our reservations a few minutes early, we each enjoyed an amaretto sour cocktail at the bar. Safe to say, Liza really enjoyed the recommendation. John and Catherine (our dinner guests) soon arrived, and we were then led to our indoor table. John and Catherine are a part of our Globility Board who happen to live in Huntington Beach. Liza and I enjoyed their company and hearing all about their travels. After introductions, we soon ordered our meals, where I enjoyed a squash risotto that offered tasty flavors making it a very filling dinner. Our service was superb, and Pacific Hideaway offered a great atmosphere for our dinner.

Overall, The Kimpton made my stay a lovely experience, especially for visiting California for the first time. Even after visiting and having the most perfect stay, I am still California dreamin’!
